villa oblique fw23
The FW23 season brings us close to Paris, in a 1960s villa designed by French Architect Claude Parent in Versailles, not far from the Maison de Garche where Madame Khanh and her husband Quasar, the avant-gardist ‘Aerospace’ furniture designer lived. This region in the chic West of Paris seamlessly combines nature and architecture, creating an elegant and unadorned representation of modern and discreet bourgeoisie living.
Emmanuelle Khanh’s FW23 campaign focuses on a style that prioritizes movement, fluidity, and accomplished femininity. The House tells the story of a living space where one can find contemplative moments of self-reflection within the context of an oblique architecture - a nod to its creator’s aesthetic and symbolic vision.
“I wanted to pay homage to Madame Khanh through a collection of archive film photographs and period press articles, which showcased her daily life through a mixture of carefully staged scenes and candid moments, set against the backdrop of the villa’s distinctive architecture – a subject in its own right. The essence of the Emmanuelle Khanh lifestyle is not just a fashion statement; it’s a way of being and inhabiting space”. – Eva Gaumé, Creative Director.
The collection is revealed through a series of portraits featuring refined silhouettes. The use of rich, lacquered colors contrasts with the prevalent bare concrete, symbolizing modernity from another era that remains relevant today.
